The Start of Suzuki Powersports
The company got its start in 1909. It was created by Michio Suzuki and was called the Suzuki Loom Works. For the first thirty years, the company developed and produced weaving looms and machines. The founder knew that product diversification was important, so he looked for ways to expand. In 1937, he built prototype cars with compact designed and cutting-edge liquid-cooled, four-stroke, four-cylinder engines.
The first Suzuki motorcycle emerged in 1952. The company created Power Free, which was a motorized bike running off of a 36cc one-horsepower engine. By 1956, there were 6,000 Suzuki motorcycles per month being produced alongside the company's successful automobiles. Over time, other products would become offered.
